@SEZ9 done — the note is now in the “Completion signal (2a/2b)” paragraph of the [23 Oct table comment](https://github.com/apache/seatunnel/issues/10203#issuecomment-6357660652), so that section is self-contained: > A checkpoint taken during the bounded backfill lands in 2a for exactly that reason: the HIGH watermark exists only as the backfill's stop offset (`MySqlSnapshotSplitReadTask:154`), so both `SnapshotSplitState` fields are still null and `isSnapshotReadFinished()` is false. The 2a/2b boundary is therefore purely the checkpointed pair — no other state is consulted. The `finishedUnackedSplits` rebuild (`IncrementalSourceReader.addSplits:152-153`) and `restoreCompletedSnapshotSplit` are stated in the sentence right before it, so the paragraph now covers both halves of what you asked for.
