The 'How to ..' checklists on the wiki needs to be reviewed and updated -
Here are some of the things that should be include -
- Under 'How to Release' Add a checklist for release voting. It should include
a steps for verify release (eg checksums, RAT check etc.). There's a section
for RM to verify things before sending a vote. Most of those steps should be
added to verifying release section. The release process could be overwhelming
for a new RM. We should also recommend a new RM to request a PMC member as
mentor for release process.
- Also under 'How to Release - Prerequisites', add a step for a formal DISCUSS
thread to propose the release. It should be referenced in the release heads up
mail.
- Add a role and responsibility section that defines Contributors, Committers
and PPMC with their core project responsibilities. We can also include
reviewing the project web site as a step in reporting. This way we'll have more
periodic reviews to keep the page uptodate.
