Konstantin, thanks very much for running this benchmark!  It sounds like that, 
or any other LOG.debug() call that might be called while servicing an otherwise 
inexpensive RPC request, should be guarded with an isDebugEnabled() or replaced 
with an slf4j or some other wrapper that avoids string concatenation.
