Putting aside any smarmy responses for a moment - sorry that "job(s)" wasn't understood as equating to "purpose".
If you are building a general purpose sandbox then I think we all agree on building a "balanced" general purpose cluster. But if you have production use cases in mind then you darn well better try to understand how the cluster will be used/stressed so you don't end up with a hardware spec that doesn't match how the cluster is actually used. If you can't profile a production use case as to how it will stress the cluster that is a huge warning sign as to project risk.
