The purpose is so users can attach the source of the component to the
binary jar file in an IDE such as Eclipse. It just contains the java
LICENSE and NOTICE files.
- Line endings: You mean files like project.xml or project.properties
should also be converted?
IMHO yes, but this has been an open debate for a while.
