Hi, i have uploaded new images for QtMoko on debian. It's stable distribution based on Qtopia and Debian. For more info please check project homepage
http://activationrecord.net/radekp/qtmoko/ http://qtmoko.org You can download images for NAND and SD card from this location: http://activationrecord.net/radekp/qtmoko/download/ and you can see screenshots here: http://activationrecord.net/radekp/qtmoko/screenshots/ Changes from previous version: * fixed broken battery indicator after suspend (Jim Morris) * fixed swap and memory problems (Jim Morris) * fixed ogg in media player and as ringtone (Radek Polak) * installable mp3 support (Radek Polak) * virtual keyboard and window manager in X applications (Anton Olkhovik) * finger keyboard supports skins (Anton Olkhovik) * wlan script is now posix compliant (Torfinn Ingolfsen) * latest andy-tracking kernel If you wonder whether you should upgrade, then answer is simple - yes :) Jim Morris did great work and thanks to him the memory problems should be completely gone. QtMoko apps in v11 were killed with android's oom killer. This is no more true and QtMoko can also use swap. I have tested webbrowser and it can display even big pages now. Also battery indicator should be now fixed. It was showing wrong values after a few suspend cycles because of incorrectly reported value in sysfs. You can now play ogg vorbis audio in media player and as ringtones. You can also use codecs installed from QtMoko package feed to install mp3 support. It's simple application that copies required libraries to your system. After that you can uninstall the application (its not needed anymore), restart your phone and use also mp3 in media player and as ringtone. As for running X applications - it's now even more user friendly and you can easily configure any application to have window manager and virtual keyboard. The image is based on v11 so it is possible to upgrade by replacing /opt directory upgrading kernel (recommended only for those who know what they do). Btw i am now suspending the phone manually with short POWER button press and bluetooths seems to be ok. Can anyone confirm it? For next release we plan to fix the SMS and alarm bug (but alarm has now quite good workaround so it's not so hot) and if all goes right you can expect better web experience. I have now also bluetooth headset :) Hope you will enjoy this new version Cheers Radek _______________________________________________ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
