Hi,

>> a reliable resource for who it appears to... <<

"Reliable" and "appears to" are mutually exclusive - you answered your own
question right there! <G>.

Seriously though, you can trust only the RECEIVED header your OWN Imail
instance added. It will indicate the real IP address, the reverse DNS entry and
the hostname that the other side claims to be in the HELO string.

You can NOT trust from/to etc. headers - those were created by the sending
application and are completely non-essential to the message transport.

It's also a good idea to have Declude insert a "Return-Path" header - or
equivalent where it records the "MAIL FROM", e.g.:

        Return-Path: <[email protected]>

While it cannot be trusted, in cases of LEGITIMATE bulk, web site generated,
mailing list and similar emails, it might reveal a different "sender" than
what's in the "From" header.

Best Regards,
Andy

I'll see if I can't arrange a test during debug mode.

I have a copy of the message header. Is that a reliable resource for who it
appears to be coming from?

As always, THANKS!
