I have been an avid reader and appreciator of this listserv and for years
had a plot in a community garden in Washington, DC. I'm also the author of
children's books, including the Jackson Jones chapter-book series, published
by
Random House, about a boy and his adventures with his city community garden.
The third book, Jackson Jones and the Curse of the Outlaw Rose, comes out
soon and I'd like to include a "tip sheet" with associated mailings/events.
What books, from your experience, have you found most helpful/enjoyable when
working with kids and gardens? (These could be how-to or fiction/poetry
related to kids and gardens.) And do you have any garden-related crafts
activities
that can be done in classroom that have worked especially well? I'm going
to include a few from my own experience but would love to learn of others.
Many thanks for any and all suggestions!
