Southern SAWG is proud to announce: 16th ANNUAL SOUTHERN SAWG CONFERENCE JANUARY 25-28, 2007 GALT HOUSE HOTEL AND SUITES LOUISVILLE, KY.
The Southern SAWG Conference features - * a full track of eight Community Food sessions, * over 40 other educational sessions on sustainable agriculture and policy, * six sustainable farming field trips, * eight intensive farm enterprise short courses, * an on-farm experienced organic vegetable farmer exchange, * a trade show and sustainable agriculture exhibits, * a Taste of Kentucky banquet. For the first time ever, we will also offer three Community Food Systems Mini Courses on January 25 and 26 prior to the regular conference sessions. These three-hour courses will allow leaders of community food projects to build skills in planning and design, community food systems organizing, and community food assessments. All of the courses are led by people with practical experience at developing more sustainable food systems who also have a wealth of innovative ideas. Attendees will have the opportunity to gain new skills and network with others in a smaller classroom setting. The Southern SAWG Conference offers attendees a unique opportunity to attend a dedicated track of sessions on community food security or attend any one of more than 40 other sessions on aspects of sustainable farming. This mix of sustainable agriculture and community food security sessions in one conference creates an opportunity for attendees with consumer perspectives to network with attendees who have food production interests. See the Southern SAWG web site for a full schedule, registration form, and other information - http://www.ssawg.org/conference-.html
