From Breaking Ground: 2nd Farm Work Gig Revs Up
Are you interested in: City farming, gardening and growing food? Learning the practical side of environmental and food issues? Getting lots of exercise and fresh air? Composting and creating good soil? Learning skills to get you a paying job? Are you ready to make a difference!

FoodCycles (http://foodcycles.org) is a non-profit city farm based in the Greater Toronto Area that raises worms, produces nutritious, vibrant soil and grows food. We are looking for volunteers (unpaid) who have a interest in urban agriculture and would like to get dirty! We are in the midst of establishing our farm so there is lots of tasks to do. Laying out field blocks, seeding, transplanting, and building worm bins are just some of the activities to do!

On the books volunteer days are Wednesday (5-8 pm), Friday (9 am – 12 pm) and Saturday (9 am – 12 pm). Check our calendar (http://bit.ly/ 3Ikr3) for the latest updates or email us (see below).

Our greenhouse and one acre field is located at Downsview Park, just southeast of the intersection of Keele and Sheppard (70 Canuck Ave, map and directions http://bit.ly/1GYyWQ).

Bring rain gear, closed toe boots or shoes and lighter layers in warmer weather.

Visit our website http://foodcycles.org for more information or RSVP if you can, at [email protected] or call 416.845.0818. -------------- next part --------------
