Social Media and Blogger Conference "CONVERGESOUTH 2010" To Meet

On Greensboro October 1-2, 2010

 

FOR NEWSROOM STAFFS: Reporters and editors typically use this conference to
learn how to better use the Internet to get your message out there. The
[Greensboro] News & Record has been involved every year in helping plan the
content. ConvergeSouth is a good place to send reporters and editors.
Presenters have focused on NORGs and represent major newspapers across the

GREENSBORO, N.C. (September 2, 2010) - If you use email, you most likely
have had someone send you a video that has already been seen by thousands of
people. That means the video has gone "viral." You can learn how to send
your message, use Google and Microsoft free tools to grow your business and
develop messages by attending the ConvergeSouth conference. 

            The event will be held at NC A&T State University in Greensboro
on Friday, Oct. 1 and Saturday, Oct. 2.

            The conference brings together individual and small business
social media newbies, social networking strategists and experts to share
their stories and offer advice. Workshop topics are geared to individuals
and small-to-large businesses with topics including social networking, viral
video, content marketing, creating your brand, an entire track for
developers and much more.

            Friday's keynoter is Brent Payne, SEO Director for Tribune
Interactive <http://www.tribuneinteractive.com/network/> . Payne is In-House
Director of Search Engine Optimization and SEO Director for Tribune
Technology. He is responsible for all aspects of SEO for 50+ Tribune Company
sites/domains and conducts SEO training throughout their markets. 

            In ConvergeSouth parlance, Brent Payne is a 'Tech Rock Star'.

            The 2-day schedule features nationally-known experts including
Elyse Porterfield <http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=6764566n> , the
viral video star who was "the girl who quit her job via dry erase board". 

            Michael VanDervort will present on the new style of job hunting
using social media. 

            Other topics explored include building Google APIs, iPad and
Windows Mobile 7 apps, Free & Open Source Tools for Your Business, and
