all the City of Sacramento will be hearing a new ordinance that will allow community gardens on private land (currently land would need to be zoned for agriculture for a community garden).. this wil also include the ability to sell produce, and to tap into an adjacent parcels water connection with approval from the land owner (to avoid costly new water tap prices) hearing will be tuesday july 26 at 6pm at city hall.
community gardens on public land will be taken up in another ordinance in the near future. also...the chicken ordinance will be heard in a few months and should be passed by the end of the year.. and in 2007, Sacramento passed the frontyard ordinance allowing vegtables, and fruit trees in the front yard.
