Dear All, Please send this note to any high school or college teachers who have students learning how to install and steward miniature aquaponics systems.
Would you be interested in any of your current or former students entering a "competition" to determine who is chosen to go the Washington D.C. and install a simple, modestly costing aquaponics miniature in a school, community center, or faith community? Ken Kenworthy of Knowledge Realm is undertaking a grant writing and fund raising effort as a starter project for his Food Mill concept. Dr. Subra Mukherjee of Indo American Aquaponics Institutute has visions of tying this experiment in with an Indo American exchange as well. The first iteration would support Ken's creating a vehicle and place for a very modest aquaponics miniature and 2 students from Chicago or Milwaukee SWC co installing the systems with students and faculty in the DC site, with the eBook cameras running and the story inspiring. The students would be chosen by a combination of factors: teacher and fellow student recommendations; levels of SWF AQUAPON badges; digital portfolios offered. This project will, with the approval of Ken and Subra, tie in with the Mumbai Village Ullon work/learn/tour project developing. Students chosen for DC Foodmill experiment would have extra points for AQUAPON competition leading to India visit. Or, we would begin with ambition to win participation of Mumbai or Village Ullon Aquapon Experimenters What say? James J.
