Hi, all. Just wanted to remind you to stay on top of any zoning
ordinance rewrites or changes happening in your city. The draft
circulating in my city included a section that literally made donating
crops from community gardens illegal if the gardens are located in parts
of the city that don't allow commercial activity (in my city, that would
be include just about all the parks, churches, and schools). If some of
us hadn't noticed this detail and spoken up about it, this would have
been the law. We have a large community garden, a robust food pantry
garden, and numerous school gardens that donate to those in need that
would have been directly affected.
