Hi, all. Just wanted to remind you to stay on top of any zoning ordinance rewrites or changes happening in your city. The draft circulating in my city included a section that literally made donating crops from community gardens illegal if the gardens are located in parts of the city that don't allow commercial activity (in my city, that would be include just about all the parks, churches, and schools). If some of us hadn't noticed this detail and spoken up about it, this would have been the law. We have a large community garden, a robust food pantry garden, and numerous school gardens that donate to those in need that would have been directly affected.

Here's my short post about it, if you find this helpful: http://www.foodshedplanet.com/2013/07/breaking-news-donating-fresh-grown-food.html

Learning as I grow,
Pattie
