Greetings Community Gardeners, Hope this finds you well.
I am writing to invite everyone to be citizen scientists and participate in the Lost Ladybug Project. You can help just by uploading a picture of any ladybug you see to our website: http://www.lostladybug.org When you send us a photo we will email you and tell you what ladybug species you have found, and your ladybug photo will go up on our website. You can also search our 23,000+ ladybug photos and see which ladybugs live in your area! We are trying to understand why some native species of ladybugs are in decline and possibly extinct in some parts of North America. We are mapping where all the species of ladybugs exist in North America. Biodiversity of ladybugs is important! Each species of ladybug has an important niche and job to do in our gardens and in the overall environment. Often having a variety of species of ladybugs results in better pest control. We are a national ongoing nonprofit citizen science and informal education project funded by NSF. Please email me if you have questions. If you are interested I can send you some handouts, posters, and beautiful lost ladybug project bookmarks. I can give a presentation and answer questions for your group via Skype or (schedule depending) in person. Ladybug questions can also be asked via our Lost Ladybug Project Facebook page. many thanks, Leslie ([email protected]) Dr. Leslie Allee Lost Ladybug Project Department of Entomology Cornell University Ithaca, NY 14853 http://www.lostladybug.org [email protected] ________________________________________ From: Community_garden [[email protected]] on behalf of [email protected] [[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, October 15, 2013 12:00 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Community_garden Digest, Vol 1663, Issue 1 Send Community_garden mailing list submissions to [email protected] To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit http://list.communitygarden.org/mailman/listinfo/community_garden_list.communitygarden.org or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to [email protected] You can reach the person managing the list at [email protected] When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific than "Re: Contents of Community_garden digest..." _______________________________________________ The American Community Gardening Association listserve is only one of ACGA's services to community gardeners.
