Mine is. It was supposed to be a community FAQ. That's
why all the early contributors worked on it. Because in
those days there was more of a community spirit to the
information. pickle stuck his name on it and instead of
the LEM vintage FAQ, it became pickle's FAQ. That
pickle is an egomaniacal control freak is something
that even he wouldn't deny. By whatever means -- and
there are numerous -- pickle managed pretty much to
alienate all the early contributors. Yes, I do have a
list but that's irrelevant. So what irks some people
who helped create and expand the vintage knowledge base
is how the spirit of the FAQ was hi-jacked and then
turned into a single person's self promotion.
Everybody -- sooner or later -- gets sick of replying
"check the PRAM battery," but it should be pointed out
that this is a discussion list. It is not solely a Q&A
and it should never be a forum for bullying or
surpressing discussion because the answer is somewhere
else. All the answers are somewhere else. The FAQ was
developed before search engines became as sophisticated
as they are now. "Check the FAQ" could be replaced just
as easily by "google it." Discussion should not be
replaced, it should be encouraged.

And what -- pray tell -- is that?
