And, conversely an accelerated SE/30 (mine has a 50MHz '030) will whip the sorry beeehind of many a lesser 68k Mac, including all the '030 LC machines!. With 32MB of RAM and System 7.1 it flies and is a joy to use. If only I had something I could use it for.... FWIW I think even the Mac SE is faster than a stock Classic, and it has a PDS slot for the potential addition of an ethernet card, which I have done on mine. Sure it ain't flatteringly fast at ethernet but at least it works! It is possible to shoe-horn a Turbo 040 card into an SE/30. I wish I had the adapter to try it, that and an ethernet NIC would make a mean compact Mac, kinda like a black and white Mystic but more retro :). I do have a Turbo 040 - it resides in my IIci at the moment. That machine is a Photoshop museum piece. It has a 4xDSP accelerated gfx card in as well :) -- Mark Benson AIM - SilValleyPirate Visit FlatPackMacs online: <http://fpm.gotdns.com> Mac LC Central -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
