Yo compacters everywhere, Our "J.S. Garrison" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> sez, askz, whatever,
>...and with your permission... Permission granted, er, gifted, oh, whatever. Sure. >My little, (population 5,500), town's ISP has been extremely flexible. I am, thanks to his ongoing support, able to hook any of my old Macs to the server of his with just an external modem. No crap about obsolete, no whining over unsupported, just a highway of glass. We got one of those too. The boss is most helpful. His attitude is pop3 is pop3 is pop3 forever and ever and ever. However,in a our small town (pop 14,000), the best tech staff he can get (both of 'em) start each tech support conversation with "Now launch Outlook" without even asking what platform or client is in use. One of them, after I reply "You are making a false assumption here." responds with "Oh, hi Bill." The other literally starts an argument everytime. I have no idea why we Americans so idealize small towns? Bill -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
