I really appreciate the thorough description of the monitor interior.
Everything is as you described it.

On this model, most of the pots are on the right-hand side (viewed from the
back). The pot ids are stencilled onto the PCB. Unfortunately, even with
the horizontal size pot cranked to its stops, the screen image stretches
from edge to edge of the monitor. This was the reason I posted the original
question. I've cracked the case again to look for shrunken shrink-wrap
syndrome, but none of the caps seem to be suffering from it. There doesn't
appear to be a pincushion or convergence pot, so I'm stuck with the screen
distortion. I'll probably keep the monitor around for testing, but it's not
going to do for daily use.

Of the ten trimmer pots, the only one I couldn't identify was VR704-SPCC.
The 'VR704' is just the board location. Any suggestions what the 'SPCC'
stands for?
