All -

First, thanks for all the responses to my first questions - this is a great
mailing list/community!

Second, I have made progress with the LC yesterday - replaced the battery
and added some RAM (x86 RAM does work!). Now, I have a couple of questions:

Why does is the sound so poor? I understand that it's a 8MHz mono soundcard
going through a speaker, but when I plugged speakers into the jack on the
back, the sound was at least as bad, if not worse (and no louder). I have
to have the volume maxed out to hear anything, and there is so much feedback
that it sounds more like buzzes that sounds. Is it just my machine or is it
an LC thing, and is there anything I can do about it?

I have a CD-ROM drive that I tried to hook up. I have a terminator in place
(on the top SCSI port of the drive). When the address is set to 1 or 7 (the
ends of the numbering scheme) I get a floppy with an "X" when I reboot.
when I change the number to 2-6, the computer boots fine from the hard
drive, but I can't access a CD. When I put the sled into the drive the
light changes to green for a few seconds, then goes back to amber. The CD
is a hybrid WIN/Mac kids' game (I don't expect it to run, but I do expect to
at least be able to read it). Again, what do I need to do to get this
going?

Thanks again!

Mike
