I'm not sure about the need for PAL SIMMS. I thought it was only a
problem for the Mac IIfx. But THAT won't keep the Rodime from booting and
accepting "copy-to" tasks.

If you're getting "disk error" messages while trying to copy to the
Rodime, and you KNOW the floppies are good, and the floppy drive is good,
then the Rodime has spun its last. I have a Quantum 80 megger in that
position that I just discovered yesterday hiding in a once-good LC III.

Trying to copy a Stuffit program to it, I got disk errors. And the floppies
used are perfect, and work on all other Macs I use, even after swapping out two
other known-good floppy drives.
