This message written: Wednesday, 18 June 2003 12:40:56 PDT Scored my firs Color Classic yesterday. A bit covered with smoker's residue but a good washing with a bit of Comet and water brought it to "near new" appearance. It booted right up, though the PRAM battery is dead. A stock machine with an 80mb HD, 4mb RAM and no additional video RAM. Still, for $5.00, a nice find.
I traded out the 1gb HD from my "test" SE/30, installed the enabler for 7.1 and now have a color machine in the corner of the kitchen counter (recipe box display now in color!). I love the Trinitron screen. The "book" on the Color Classic states that max RAM is 10mb. With 4mb "on-board" that seems to mean one 4mb and one 2mb stick can be added. I don't think I have come across a 2mb stick. Are such things common? Likely "sources?" Ken -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
