I got two Mac Pluses. One had the 4MB upgrade and the other only showed 1MB. The one that had the 4MB has the beige color and the other is gray. I assume the gray is a newer model. The beige has the name "Macintosh Plus 1MB" I've been familiar with for a long time and the gray has the "Macintosh Plus" plain and simple which I had never seen before. Anyway I pulled some memory chips from a broken Mac II and thought I'd put them in the gray Plus. Turned it on showed 2048K RAM. Thinking that the memory chips I had pulled from the Mac II were only 512K each, I switched with the RAM installed in the beige Mac Plus. Beige keeps saying 4096K but the gray stills says 2048K. What is wrong?

TIA
