I got it working. . . and to prove it, here's my
settings:

iBook:

     Network:

                TCP/IP--> en1
                 *Using DHCP
                 IP addy: 192.168.0.102
                 subnet: 255.255.255.0
                 router: 192.168.0.1
                 Appletalk inactive

                 TCP/IP--> en0
                 *manually
                 IP: 192.168.2.1
                 subnet: 255.255.255.0
                 Appletalk active

SE:
IP addy 192.168.2.20

obtain: manually
Gateway: 192.168.2.1
class: c  address: 192.168.2.20
net: 12625922
subnet 0
node 20

Is that all I need to remember?
