There were two Mac Classic analogue boards! 661-0597 - Rev A for the Classic only and 661-0651 - Rev B, for the Classic, Classic II and Performa 200. Looks highly likely there was a version that used the SE-style flyback transformer. Mystery solved (hopefully).
