I just got Larry Pina's SE & Classic repair book and he confirms that the
early Classic Analogue board did in fact use a different flyback transformer
as well as a different yoke connector and width coil, among others. Though
he doesn't specify part numbers (I guess the Classic flybacks never fail?),
he does say they won't fit interchangeably, which implies that the use of
the SE style vs. the Classic style which is a smaller footprint. Apparently
Samsung made the earlier board and Hitachi made the later board. Possibly
they redesigned it for the Classic II and then moved all the Classics to the
new one when the Samsung contract was finished.

Another interesting fact is the late model Classic IIs apparently had a
speaker grill drilled into the left side from the factory! I've never seen
one.
