There was a procedure for recording all actions for the purpose of creating 
educational load-and-execute floppies. I'm quite sure one didn't have to be a 
"developer" to use it. was a bit like, and might have been called, journaling.

For later systems there was MacroMaker which would replay items selected by 
keyboard or mouse clicks.

Given something that will display the images you want on a one-bit, black & 
white screen it should be possible to record your actions while viewing and 
play them back.

Timing between pictures might be a problem but I donno.
