Even more important is whether the driver has been installed. Most 3rd 
party ethernet cards REQUIRE a driver that gets installed directly into 
the System File. Extensions and System version can't tell you whether the 
driver is there or not -- it is a DRVR resource in the System file which 
you can see with ResEdit. With Apple cards you rarely have this problem, 
but there were no Apple ethernet cards for the SE or SE/30.
