So, information is redundant if it's on the web and available for every
user, but it's not redundant if you have it in an application which
some
users may not want, or be able to use??

Interesting argument you put forward there....

O.K., I really did not want to stir up any emotions. No flame bait
here, just some clarifications.

No emotions, no flame bait, just a healthy discussion :)

Yes. A truly british reaction, thanks ;-).

I guess I'm fortunate that I have access to the web 24/7 if I so choose at
a suitably fast bandwidth, and since I made a career in IT it's no
surprise that this is a way I live.

Yes, you're fortunate, and I and quite a couple of the guys'n'gals on this list are not. Maybe I'm just envious.

Redundancy is no bad thing. Corporates large and small use redundancey as a means of ensuring that the data they have is protected by being in more
than one place.

O.K., agreed, if it's well organized. Reminds me of the Gamba files and how list members help them to survive. And <blush> reminds me of my hard disks; some call it backup, some may call it chaos, I call it data protection :-D

Apple-History.com is perhaps my only chance at having a Mac museum in my
apartment.

Maybe not the only one, but surely not the worst one. And I assure you the "real thing" (like my 40+ macs and additional PowerBooks galore) takes up some space. Real space, I mean.

I hope Glen continues to get the support to maintain the site, I will
certainly be contributing where I can.

Andy

I'd be the last one not to support a site documenting one of the most memorable aspects of computer history. Count on me to contribute some bits and pieces if someone thinks he/she can spare enough time for maintaining it - I can't.

Cheers, OM
