Hi - according to 'specs', the SE will run OS 4.1 - 7.5.5, but Lowendmac says user(s) have used an SE with OS 1.1, but they don't say WHO, or HOW! I HOPE THIS HELPS. The move from the Plus to the SE was a big step forward in technology from an upgradeable hardware standpoint: -pds slot, making expansion cards possible -internal scsi HD possible. -HD floppy drive possible -processor upgrades were numerous -even upgradeable with an SE30 motherboard! (but then it would require a minimum of OS 6.0.3, according to 'specs')
These older units are a lot of fun to animate, aren't they? I have a working SE30, I'm fixing a Classic II, and am lusting after a Color Classic!
