Correct. The "printer" cable does the inversions so that transmitters talk to receivers. It is not wired as pin to pin. The two Macs can actually talk with terminal software at each end or as a LocatTalk / AppleShare connection. What's a shame is that one cannot connect to an OS neXt machine and telnet to it with a printer cable.
