I think it's important to put out a release soon to mark the merger of compiz and beryl, and the current 0.6 branch point marks a point in time where all the compiz fusion plugins have been updated to work with the new compiz core, but no big new changes have been added yet. I don't know - I think it makes more sense to just fix as many bugs as we can up until the release date and then push it out.
