Okay, but Staples and these other online sellers DO say their
cartridges work with Dell! So someone is guilty of either lying or
false advertising. In fact, staples has generic cartridges (still
almost as expensive as Dell's, btw), labeled as for the Dell
printers and for my specific one. Hate to throw good money after bad
by buying another set of Dell cartridges, but don't have the dough
at the moment to buy another 4 in 1, so just haven't had use of the
4 in 1 for months now, unless I bother with scanning things in it
and using my good old reliable HP laser printer to print them out
(though not always the best quality reproduction).
So, bottom line, guess you are agreeing with Dell that no other
printer cartridges but theirs will work with their
printers? Including ink refill kits? Will certainly think twice,
three times or ten times before ever buying a Dell printer. Too bad
I probably wasn't on this list when you issued those warning!
Randall
There evidently are others here on the list that disagree with me on
the dell printers. Fine. I am glad that what they have works for them.
I would be cautious with Dell, Just like their hand held PDA's (dell
axium) that I understand are discontinued. They still sell supplies
and add-ons for them but they evidently recommend other PDA's like
Palm and others.
What will people do when Dell stops making/selling their printers.???
I have bought a couple of real cheap network capable Brother lasers
for client use and they seem to work fine. And Staples, Office Depot
and others sell the cartridges.
Your Mileage May Vary..
Rich
PS: I have purchased quite a few dell computers for clients, servers
and workstations that work well. No printers though.. <G>
