She wasn't found guilty of this however, and that's problematic for your
analysis.

The jury in the case did not agree with your analysis.  They convicted
her of federal misdemeanors not involving intent.  I also pointedly note
that her convictions may not withstand even minimal appellate review.

No, that's what the media tried to prove.  The US Atty actually lost on
most of the issues.  The jury also appears to have disapproved of her
actions and thus convicted her despite not agreeing with the basis for
the case being brought.

What she was convicted of was the equivalent of one of us signing up for
this discussion list using the name Piowar Tom and that's not the actual
name of the individual signing up.  There is a long history on the
internet of folks using aliases for any of a variety of reasons and now
a jury has ruled that's illegal and a misdemeanor.
