And also bad to charge different prices depending on what that byte carries. It is ridiculous that texting costs so much even when you have the "unlimited" data plan.

This is, of course, another manifestation of the network neutrality debate. It is bad for society to allow the carriers to impose bizarre restrictions on what devices can generate data packets on their networks and what those data packets can contain.
