It's not Google..it's LG and Verizon.  Unless Google is putting presure on
Verizon/LG that we don't know about.  I view Google as creating the base OS
and putting it outside their garage in whatever builds there are and phone
manufacturers driving by and picking up what they want.  Some 1.6, some
2.2..some 2.1.  I don't think Google gives a you know what which OS these
vendors are using.  The two phones that of course bypass that scenario are
the nexus phones.

I'm still looking into rooting my EVO running 2.2.  It is slightly more
difficult than the literal one click root my hero had available.
