First please note that this list for the most part has moved to Yahoo, note the message at the bottom of this reply. 2nd Netscape has not been supported for quite some time, and likely has lots of safety and security issues. Netscape can be easily replaced with the SeaMonkey suite offered by the folks at Mozilla, or alternatively just for email, Thunderbird the standalone email offering from Mozilla can also be used. Either the email component of Seamonkey or Thunderbird can import mail and settings from Netscape, so moving to either isn't likely to be a major issue. 3rd, it's been a long time since I last used Netscape in either Windows or Linux, but if I remember correctly, what sounds show up for events can be set under <Tools><Preferences>. Of course it could be that although you have no sounds selected in XP, you still have an event set in Netscape triggering said sounds. You'll have to play with both possibilities for a solution. *************************************** ** THIS LIST HAS MOVED TO YAHOO ** ** PLEASE JOIN THE DISCUSSION THERE ** ** Info at http://www.cguys.org/ ** ***************************************
