Well, I'm guessing the fact that you can initiate a sync from the PC 
software is just a convenience for when you're first setting up the Wifi. 
"Oh, you're here setting up Wifi?  Want us to kick off a sync for you?"  I 
guess they are thinking most people will use the app for changing the 
configuration?  I don't know.
