Reconnect with old friends…Help emerging conservators…And enjoy time to socialize with other like minded professionals. 10:30 - 11:00 am Arrival and Check-in 11:00 am Annual Business Meeting 12:00 pm Digital Preservation for the Conservator Gawain Weaver Photograph conservator in private practice, co-author of the AIC Guide to Digital Photography and Conservation Documentation, and President of Two Cat Digital, will discuss the preservation of digital photographs with an emphasis on the needs of the art conservator. Digital images, whether born-digital camera files or images from flatbed scanners are inherently fragile and require vigilance to maintain over time. Digital preservation, hardcopy output options, RAID drives, and cloud backups will be discussed among many other topics. Your questions are welcome during the talk, and questions can be emailed anytime to Gawain at [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> to make sure he addresses your concerns. We will be meeting in Courtroom A to discuss the website, general business, and upcoming events. Your suggestions and participation are encouraged. After the meeting and presentation members are welcome to visit the museum at their leisure. San Mateo County Historical Museum has generously waived the normal admission fee, so please check-in between 10:30 and 11:00 am at the entrance with a Board Member.
