I checked console 3 and you were right.  I found the following:

"HPT|Ultra66: found ide2=0xd400,0xd800 ide3=0xdc00,0xe000"

but the problem is that I still don't have any filesystems recognized in the
"setup filesystems" step.  How do I get it to see my /dev/hde ?  In other
words, what do I do now?
