I don't like the way that you have to pass it the version of samba to
build. It's already in the samba_3_0 directory and it could just look
in ../../README and scan for "This is version X.X.X of Samba". If it
doesn't find that, then you can manually override it.

I'm missing pam-devel on that machine, so I'll have to add it. I'd do
it remotely, but it's complaining that it wants to remove pam to do it.
I'm not real hip on that :) I'll wait til I get home to manually do it.
