I had hoped to have time to work on a GUI for openldap, but I don't think I will. But you should see the updated articles at mandrakesecure.net if you haven't yet. It would be nice if someone could cover migration from NIS (I have never used NIS). One of the labs in our university switched from NIS to LDAP on Mandrake 9.1, with relatively few problems.
