I cannot reproduce the bug.

Check the URL in the browser. Is it still "http://localhost:631/..."; or is it
"http://<server's name or IP>:631/...". With the default configuration the URL
must always be "http://localhost:631/...";, otherwise administrative tasks are
not possible.

When your browser askd to log in, have you logged in as root?

Is the printer which you have chosen locally defined?

If all this does not help, please attach your /etc/cups/cupsd.conf to this bug
report. Tell also what steps you did to set up printing on your system,
especially whether you have locally defined printers and whether you have used
the "Configure CUPS" function of printerdrake.
