------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED]  2003-15-09 23:52 -------
Dear Buchan,
I re-installed samba-client package and it now works!
So this must have been an error of upgrade-packages only from rc1 to rc2...
Sorry for this buzz and thanks a lot!
Cheers,
Sergei

I have the following line in /etc/fstab:
//kalitka/public /mnt/smb smbfs dmask=777,fmask=777,guest 0 0

kalitka is a server which is up running and accessible through ssh, e.g.
public area IS accessible too:
this did work in LM9.2rc1 and still working on another machine under LM9.1

When I try to mount /mnt/smb the following is reported by dmesg:
smbfs: mount_data version 1935764836 is not supported

I tried to redefine samba mount point through drakconf.
It prompted that samba-client needs to be installed although it IS installed:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] sergei]# rpm -q samba-client
samba-client-2.2.8a-13mdk

and then if I, however, click on OK it reports that
mandatory package samba-client is missing.

Mandatory package samba-client is missing

Version of samba-server on the server machine is
samba-server-2.2.7a-9.2mdk
