Hi,

Following the appearance of the Holly Penguin, I installed today
2.4.0-0.6mdk, and it seems to work fine. Just two little things to report
for now:

1. Starting gnome, I receive an error "Error querying battery charge, make
sure that your kernel was built with APM support".
# chkconfig --list | grep apm
apmd 0:off 1:off 2:on 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off

However apmd does not appear to be running and I can't start it manually.

2. Looking at /var/log/messages the following lines seem odd:
Jun 26 09:18:16 erux sysctl: error: 'net.ipv4.ip_always_defrag' is an
unknown key
Jun 26 09:18:16 erux sysctl: error: 'net.ipv4.tcp_syncookies' is an unknown
key
(...)
Jun 26 09:18:31 erux kernel: Installing knfsd (copyright (C) 1996
[EMAIL PROTECTED]).
Jun 26 09:18:31 erux rpc.lockd: lockdsvc: Invalid argument
Jun 26 09:18:31 erux nfslock: rpc.lockd startup failed
Jun 26 09:18:32 erux nfslock: rpc.statd startup succeeded
(...)
Jun 26 09:18:37 erux kernel: kmem_create: Forcing size word alignment -
nfs_fh
Jun 26 09:18:37 erux kernel: nfs warning: mount version older than kernel

The boot.log gives:
Jun 26 10:21:26 erux rpc.lockd: lockdsvc: Invalid argument
Jun 26 10:21:26 erux nfslock: rpc.lockd startup failed
Jun 26 10:21:26 erux nfslock: rpc.statd startup succeeded

Now when I try to access a remote host, I get a warning:
Jun 26 09:19:55 erux amd[768]: mount_nfs_fh: NFS version 2
Jun 26 09:19:55 erux kernel: nfs warning: mount version older than kernel

That's it. Anyone tried on a ReiserFS machine?

Also, I removed kernel-pcmcia-cs since I thought the pcmcia support was
native in 2.4 (some modules are indeed present), but there is no cardmgr
anymore, so the insertion of a new card is not detected.

Tell me if I can do anything,

=-=
