Nope, reflashing the firmware does not help. flashing before frying the drive does help. My drive is fried (returned it for money allready) The same drive with newer firmware on other machines did not get killed. I have tried to flash it afterwards and it didn'tr help, it was the same as before. So no need to try it ..... Hope that helps other people. Steffen
