I'm new to this list. Is there a searchable archive anywhere?
I installed Cooker on sunday evening, played around one or two hours (as
user, not root). When I booted Cooker next time, I to press CTR+ALT+DEL
because X did not start but respawned continuouesly. It was not possible
to switch to a text console.
Reason: xfs did not start. As there is no error message logged, I can't
figure out why. I updated the X RPMs, used mkfontdir everywhere and also
tried to /etc/rc.d/init.d/xfs stop, start, ...
Using "xfs -port 7100 -daemon" as seen on forum.mandrakesoft.com, xfs
does start and I can also start X!
