Hi

It's the same here in France : modem via ethernet, via VPN, but there is two 
kind of modems : those using ppoe and those using pptp
Both of them work under linux (i'm under pptp)
I just had a problem with upgrades from cooker, the modem was freezing after 
24 hours of on-line time.
