Yes I would very much recommend that you build a pipe, and yes the official
filter is -j now but to avoid any future problems you might want to build
a pipe at all times instead of relying on tar's bzip2 filter option.

Still the -I and -y filter will still be available though I really don't recommend
that you use any of those.
