I don't think so. I'm using 2.5.2p2 for client, and 3 different server
versions. They are giving me different results:

Server = 2.5.2p2: no problem
Server = 2.5.2p1: no problem
Server = 2.3.0p1: see the output of ls below

It *isn't impossible* to be an interoperation problem between different
versions of openssh.
